I was fortunate enough to spend much of my early years exploring the beautiful Shropshire woodlands surrounding our family home. My passion for the natural world started from a young age and I always dreamed of working with wildlife.
After leaving University with my Animal Science BSc (Hons), and securing a role at a local Safari Park, I developed a new and exciting Learning Department which I headed up for over a decade. Introducing hundreds of thousands of children to the natural world gave me an opportunity to excite and inspire the next generation. My passion for encouraging those around me continues to grow as I see my own children's enthusiasm in the world in which we live.
Over the years I have been lucky enough to be involved with numerous environmental organisations, and have worked alongside local green businesses to develop impactful behaviour change with both colleagues and customers.
We currently live in a world where science shows us the evidence of human impact on this planet, and positive behaviour change is needed more than ever. But the one key theme I see - whether dealing with individual customers, large businesses or school children - is information overload.
With so much information out there, it is difficult to sift through and find relevant, practical advice. So let's simplify sustainable living, focus on progress over perfection, and celebrate the small habits as they stack up.
When I am not writing and juggling busy family life, I am often found attending our small vegetable garden, creating wildlife paintings, helping our children feed their small backyard flock of chickens or exploring the local countryside.
Life is busy, life is often chaotic, so let's work together and prioritise the simple tasks that help support a sustainable future for the next generation.
